This is some of the glass I have pulled out of the ground in my garden in the past few months. I have been working on this garden for four years (intermittently) and it amazes me how glass still comes up with every watering. I wonder what was dumped back there? Old windows maybe?
After hearing Tula talk about making art with what you're already doing in life, I decided to set aside the glass in glass so I could look at it. Now, when I water or weed or plant, I don't begrudge the glass and various weird things that emerge from the earth. Now, it's like a gift. Finding glass is like finding a prize; I am happy to save it, rinse it, put it in the jar. Total change of attitude.
